DBR James Elnyczky.
Brother Elnyczky retired as DBR of the former District Lodge 83. He served on District Lodge 98's Executive Board after District 83 merged with District 98. District Lodge 98 honored Brother Elnyczky as our Union Member of the year in 2005 - click here Funeral arrangements have been made and are as follows:

Organizing Win - Ball Livingston, LLP District Lodge 98 wins National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) secret ballot election at Ball Livingston, LLP in Nutley, NJ. on July 29, 2008. The paralegal and the legal secretary employed by Ball Livingston, LLP in Nutley NJ, voted for the IAM as their collective bargaining agent.
Congrats to our two new members and a special thank you to Vinny Addeo, District Lodge 15 Director of Organizing, for all his assistance. District Lodge 98 also thanks DL 98 Organizer Melissa Lyons.
Rally Supporting Locked Out Members of Local Lodge 2367 The Harrisburg Central Labor Council organized a Rally on Saturday, July 12, 2008 to support the locked out workers from IAMAW Local Lodge 2367. Philadelphia Mixer Corp. has had the fourteen (14) union members locked out since early November 2007. Over 50 Union Brothers and Sisters from the following unions: AFSCME, BCTGM, CWA, IAM, IBEW, LIUNA, SEIU, USW, Pennsylvania AFL-CIO officers and staff, and staff from the Central PA ALF, attended the rally at the plant in Palmyra, PA. The Harrisburg Regional Central Labor Council is holding a rally to support our
fourteen (14) Local Lodge 2367 union members who have been LOCKED OUT by
Philadelphia Mixer Corp for eight months after their old contract expired.
The Rally will be held Saturday, July 12th between 7:30am - 10:30am at the IAMAW
Local Lodge 2367 picket line located at 1200 East Main Street in Palmyra, PA.
Please join us for the rally Saturday morning.

IAM - Local Lodge 175 Community Service Committee Received the Boyer/Uehlein Award at the Pennsylvania State AFL-CIO Convention in Philadelphia, PA, April 3, 2008. Three (3) members of the committee (Deb Biser, Wendi Gotwalt and Nancy Stough-Miller) traveled to Philadelphia to accept the award on behalf of the full committee. District Lodge 98 is very proud and honored for our Local Lodge 175 Community Service Committee.

The dues are Ten dollars ($10.00) per year. They meet at The Thomas E. Boger District 98 IAMAW Machinists Union Complex, 3200 East Prospect Rd. York, PA on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 9:30am. LL 2367 The Lock-Out (strike) by members of Local Lodge 2367 employed by Philadelphia Mixer Corp in Palmyra, PA continues strong into their 5th month. The 14 union members were locked out after their old contract expired and the union refused to cave into the employer unreasonable demands to cut the wages and benefits and rewrite the contract language that had been in effect for decades. The Pennsylvania unemployment bureau has ruled against the workers in their unemployment case, but we have appealed that decision. 3-24-08 Congressman Altmire receives MNPL check 2-29-08 Another Organizing Win at Snyder of Berlin - Drivers The Drivers, Deliverymen and Warehousemen at Snyder of Berlin, a Division of Birds Eye Foods, Inc. voted for the IAM to represent them in the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) secret ballot election conducted on February 28, 2008. Congratulations to all the employees of Snyder for their success. District Lodge welcomes these 12 new members into our union family. Their brothers and sisters in the Quality Services department voted for the IAM representation last June, we are currently in contract negotiations for the Quality Services contract. They will join the employees in the maintenance department at Snyder of Berlin who have had an IAM negotiated contract for over 25 years. They will become members of Local Lodge 2171. Congratulations to District Lodge 98 Organizer Tom Fullard, Business Representative Bob Miller, Retired ADBR Pete Mathieu and the rest of team for another job well done!
2-29-08 Pittsburgh World of Wheels Show 2008 The World of Wheels Show held in Pittsburgh, PA February 22-23, 2008 was another great success. District Lodge 98 would like to thank everyone who helped at the show. Business Representative Todd R. Fichera states that "Only with your support and help was the show a success." 1-31-08 Drivers, Deliverymen, and Warehousemen at Snyder of Berlin NLRB election date set The parties have agreed to have the NLRB conduct the secret ballot election on February 28, 2008 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm. District Lodge 98 IAM wishes these future members the best in the upcoming election. 1-17-08 Drivers, Deliverymen, and Warehousemen at Snyder of Berlin file NLRB petition for IAM Representation District Lodge 98 Organizer Tom Fullard announces that a Petition for representation has been filed for 10 drivers/ delivery persons and warehousemen at the Snyder of Berlin / Birdseye Foods Berlin, PA., Depot. The petition for representation was filed with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Region 6 office in Pittsburgh, Pa. office on January 16, 2008. The prospective members will likely be assigned to Local Lodge 2171 of Johnstown, Pa. When an election date is set by the NLRB we will post it here.
11-26-07 District Lodge 98 Honors Retiring ADBR Pete Mathieu Pete Mathieu, Assistant Directing Business Representative, was honored for his upcoming Retirement at the 2007 Social held on November 10, 2007 at the Thomas E. Boger, District 98 Machinists Union Complex. About 160 people joined us in honoring Pete. Pete was hired as a laborer at F.L. Smithe in Duncansville PA on August 18, 1972 and was initiated into Local Lodge 2348 on October 10, 1972. In 1975 he was elected Shop Steward and became a member of the Grievance and Negotiating Committees. In 1978, Pete was elected President of Local Lodge 2348 and remained in that position until September of 1997. While serving as President of Local 2348, Pete also served as Delegate to District 98, Delegate to the Pennsylvania State Machinists Council and Delegate to Grand Lodge Conventions. On September 20, 1997, Pete was appointed Business Representative to District 98 and was appointed Assistant Directing Business Representative on February 16, 2002. Pete also served as Educator to Local Lodge 2348 and District 98 and still serves as Public Relations Manager to the Pennsylvania State Machinists Council. Pete and Christine Mathieu have been married for twenty-five years and between them they have five sons, one daughter, and seven grandchildren.

11-26-07 District Lodge 98 Dedicates Property Saturday, November 10, 2007 the Officers, members and staff of District 98 IAMAW honored and Proud to Dedicate and Name the Property of District 98 IAMAW in Honor of the Person who took the lead and who is most responsible for the members of District 98 to call this Beautiful property the home of District 98 IAMAW; Brother Thomas E. Boger. "The Thomas E. Boger District 98 IAMAW Machinists Union Complex". Tom, Thank you for your leadership in moving District 98 into the 21st Century.
11-8-07 Robert Miller Appointed as Business Representative Directing Business Representative Tom Boger has appointed Robert (Bob) Miller as a Business Representative effective October 1, 2007. BR Miller is appointed to fulfill retiring Business Representative Pete Mathieu term. BR Robert Miller is President of Local Lodge 2348 in Altoona, PA and Vice President of District Lodge 98.

District 98 staff.
